Welding Method Guidelines for 235 Carbon Steel Plate

Pre‑Weld and Interpass Control
Apply preheating (e.g., 80–120 °C) for thicker plates or cold environments to prevent cracking.
Control interpass temperatures and heat input to manage the heat-affected zone and minimize distortion.

 

Post‑Weld Considerations
Allow gradual cooling to avoid residual stresses or cracking.
Inspect welds for defects such as porosity or undercut and perform stress-relief treatments if needed.
